Lee R. Schlegel, 83, of Hummelstown, died Monday, September 17, 2007 in the M.S. Hershey Medical Center.

He was born October 24, 1923 in Halifax, PA, a son of the late John Adam and Amy (Deppen) Schlegel.

Lee retired as a Sgt/Maj. in the U.S. Marine Corps with the First Marine Division with 30 years of service. He was a member of the Campbelltown American Legion.

Surviving are his wife, H. Kaye Schlegel; a son, Gordon Schlegel, his wife Anne, and their daughter, Kayla of Cincinatti, OH; 4 sisters, Elsie Knohr, Sallie Martinez, Coleen DeFraties and Helen Gentile.

He was also preceded in death by 4 sisters.

Services with military honors will be held in Arlington National Cemetery at the convenience of the family. There will be no viewing or visitation.

Hoover Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., Hershey, is handling the arrangements.
