Barbara Ann Toms Palmer, 66, of Huddleston, died Thursday, February 27, 1997. She was born in Alexandria on February 8, 1931, a daughter of Eunice Naomi Roberts Toms of Alexandria, and the late Ernest Hamilton Toms. In addition to her mother she is survived by her husband, Command Sergeant Major G. B. ``Buck'' Palmer, Huddleston; a stepdaughter, Rebecca Brenner, Austin, Texas; a stepson, John Richard Palmer, Dallas, Texas; a sister and brother-in-law, Lyndall R. and Richard T. Clayton of Sterling; an uncle, Arnold Toms, Alexandria. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, March 2, 1997, at the Carder-Tharp Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Thomas E. Jackson officiating. A graveside service will be held 3 p.m. on Wednesday, March 5, 1997, at Arlington National Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the Carder-Tharp Funeral Home, Bedford.
