Benjamin Vaughn Abbott.

Married Miss Elizabeth Titcomb in 1853.
He was survived by his wife and two children, a son and a daughter.
He was the brother of Dr. Lyman Abbott, Austin Abbott, and the Rev. Edward Abbott of Cambridge, Massachusetts.

Benjamin Abbott graduated from New York University in 1850.
Admitted to practice the bar in 1851. Member of the law firm Abbott and Brothers. Mr. Abbott wrote and compiled many famous law digests.
In 1870, he was appointed by President Grant as a member of the National Commission for Revising the United States Laws.

Mr. Benjamin Abbott and his brother, wrote the following books: "Abbott's Practice Reports", "Abbott's Admiralty Reports", and "Digest of Corporations".

"Report of a Proposed Penal Code, Prepared for the New York Commissioners of the Code"
"United States Courts and Their Practice".
