Counts, Betty G. (nee Higgs), of Dittmer, Missouri, was born April 19, 1942, in Corning, Arkansas, to Bill Higgs and Violet (nee Hollis) Southerly, and entered into rest, Tuesday, January 26, 2010, at St. Anthony's Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri, at the age of 67 years, 9 months and 7 days.
She is preceded in death by her father and her husband, Noel Junior Counts, Sr., and two (2) children, Rhonda Dixon, and Noel Junior Counts, Jr., one (1) sibling, Georgia Carr, her step-father, George Southerly.
She is survived by her mother, Violet Southerly, of De Soto, Missouri, one (1) child, Donna (Bob) Roth of Robertsville, Missouri, four (4) grandchildren, Tasha, Stephanie, Preston, and Scott, five (5) great-grandchildren, Ashley, Kayla, Michelle, Amber, and Addison, six (6) siblings, Bill (Pat) Hollis, of St. Louis, Missouri, Bob (Lyda) Southerly, of Doniphan, Missouri, Margaret (Steve) Counts, of De Soto, Missouri, Linda (Terry) Thompson, of Cadet, Missouri, Jeannine (Fred) Schuff, of St. Louis, Missouri, and Terry (Larry) Schaffer, of De Soto, Missouri, one (1) son-in-law, Gary Kennedy, of Dixon, Missouri, and many other relatives and friends.
Betty was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her marriage to Noel blessed her with a family that made her very proud. She was a kind and generous woman who took very good care of those around her. Betty loved to go to church, enjoyed gardening and flowers and going to yard sales, but her most precious moments were those she spent with her family and especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is fondly remembered and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
