Father: Frank Lanning, burial unknown.
Married Alice J. Blakely in Jay. Co., IN, Jan. 23, 1882.

Brother: Russell Irvin Lanning, 1885-1975.
Buried at Russell Chapel Cemetery, Newton Co., IN.

Omer Lee Lanning, a farmer residing two and one-half miles west of Mt. Ayr, died at 8:30 o'clock Monday night as the Hershman and Weston ambulance was bearing him to a Lafayette hospital for treatment of heart complications by which he was stricken a short time before while he was performing chores. Mr. Lanning had been in poor health for several months, but the stroke which was so soon to cause his death was entirely unexpected.

Mr. Lanning was born in Jay county, near Portland, April 4, 1883, a son of Frank and Alice Lanning. He was married to Ruth Wortley in Rensselaer on January 23, 1932. Previous to going to Newton county about fifteen years ago they lived in Muncie and Indianapolis. At Muncie Mr. Lanning was employed by the Nickle Plate railroad and later by the Standard Oil Co.

Surviving besides the widow are three sons, Ernest, by a former marriage, who lives in Muncie, and Glen and John at home, and a brother, Russell, of Morocco. An infant daughter preceded him in death. Funeral services were held from the Hershman and Weston Funeral Home at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon. Interment was in Prairie Vine cemetery south of Morocco.
