Theodore A. Bonde, age 94, of Manitowoc, died Wednesday evening, March 10, 2010 at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, Manitowoc.

He was born on March 8, 1916 in Newton, son of the late Theodore and Genevieve (Baugniet) Bonde.

On October 15, 1955 he married the former Virginette Watruba at St. Andrew Catholic Church, Manitowoc.

Ted was employed as a butcher for Brost Meat Market in School Hill for 35 years. Following his employment, he became the owner and operator of Bonde Roofing until his retirement in 1979.

He was a member of Kiwanis Club of Manitowoc, Pigeon Lake Sportsman Club, Conservation Hall of Fame and the Knights of Columbus. Ted was the recipient of the Diamond Pin Award from the Iszak Walton League. He was a member of one of the first groups to attend Manitowoc's Sister City of Kamogawa, Japan.

Survivors include his wife, Virginette Bonde, Manitowoc; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Alex and Rita Bonde, Kiel, Donald and Margaret Bonde, Newton, Roman and Betty Bonde, Kiel; and three sisters, Frances Hutchison and Loretta Koenig, both of Manitowoc, Marion Lenz, Kiel. He was also preceded in death by four brothers, Norbert, Odilo, Bernard and Fritz Bonde; and three sisters, Rosie Bonde, Margaret Bonde and Irene Stein.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, March 13, 2010 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Community, Newton. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Gilbert Jacobs with entombment at Calvary Mausoleum, Manitowoc. Ted was an avid card player, fisherman and deer hunter who never missed a season opening in 76 years.
