Virginia was the next to the oldest of 7 children born to Hugh Bascom & Ione (Dabney) Hicks. She also had 3 older half sisters whose mother died during child birth of her 4th child, a boy. The whole family lived in Garland, Texas. Virginia was the wife of Odis R. Roark & the mother of Odis Hicks Roark who died of a heart problem 4 days after his birth. Virginia's husband, son, parents, several siblings (Ada & Hugh) and several aunts & uncles are also buried in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
