My grandmother, Dorothy was the 5th of six girls born to Montrose (Mont) Beckwith and May Oceola Stanley. "Dot," as her friends called her, was a God-fearing woman with a fiesty sense of humor and fun that was unparalleled. Strict, but loving, she was a great cook. I remember her working in the cafeteria at Pinecastle Elementary School (Orlando, FL) during the 1956/57 school year.

She was the person who let me help in the kitchen when I was a child. She taught me everything about adding love into the food preparation process.

She, and her husband, Laurel, had three children: Kenneth Laurel, Roberta Harriet and Ellen Mae.

She was allowed by the powers that be, to cross over peacefully in her sleep.
