Nellie Janet Kaufman, age 89, Wittenberg, died Thursday, September 6, 1984 at the Homme Home of Wittenberg.
She was born November 28, 1894 in Star Lake, WI, the daughter of the late Arne and Carrie (Hansen) Ringstad.
On June 30, 1915 Nellie was united in marriage to Edward Kaufman in Wittenberg. He preceded her in death on December 8, 1970.
Survivors include three sons, Mervil (Minnie) Kaufman, Eland, Roger Kaufman, Fond du Lac and Peter Kaufman, Antigo; five daughters, Nadine (Ron) Kohls, Oshkosh, Margorie (Wallace) Wolff, Eland, Carol (Melvin) Discher, Oshkosh, Phyllis (Gary) Meidl, Columbus, OH and Patricia (Leroy) Carlson, Oshkosh; one brother, Edward Ringstad, Tigerton; two sisters, Agnes Oddy and Alma Kusserow, both of Wittenberg; and 35 grandchildren, 49 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, Nellie was preceded in death by one daughter, Merna Carlson, two brothers, including Alfred Ringstad and one sister, Clara Gillogey.
Funeral services were held September 8, 1984 at Zion Lutheran Church, Eland. The Rev. William Singleton officiated. Interment was in Forest Home Cemetery, Wittenberg.
