He was born March 26, 1890 in Black River Falls, the son of the late Arne and Carrie (Hansen) Ringstad.
Alfred was a World War I Veteran.
On June 30, 1921 Alfred was united in marriage to Margaret Anderson in Marathon County. She survives.
In addition to his wife, survivors include two sons, James (Ruby) Ringstad, Eland and John Ringstad, Neillsville; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one brother, Edward Ringstad, Tigerton; four sisters, Agnes Oddy, Chicago, Clara Gillogey, Walworth, Nellie Kaufman, Eland and Alma (Harold) Kusserow, Wittenberg.
Funeral services were held December 3, 1973 at Schmidt's Funeral Home, Wittenberg. The Rev. Norbert Hellrud officiated. Interment was in Hillcrest Cemetery, town of Norrie.
