Son of John Miles and Belle (Weakly) Hart. Harry married Hazel H. Clark Oct 16, 1909 and produced 5 children. Leonard Miles Barton, Marion Annabelle (Townsley), Harry Maynard, Mary Muriel who died at age 6 and John (Jack)Raymond. Harry was sports and wire editor for the Winfield Courier for over 54 years. He was credited with coining the name "Moundbuilders" for the Southwestern teams, he also wrote the editorial naming Kansas "The Wheat State" which was used on license plates some years ago. Because of his long association with the local and state sports picture, he was an authority on sports personalities, records and performances. He was also one of the foremost authorities on local history. He has been sorely missed.
