Pollie was the daughter of Dorotha Ann Arrowood who was born in 1835 in Buncombe County, NC and died between 1880 and 1900 probably in Buncombe County. It is not known who Pollie's father was. She married William Joseph Mainer on 8/30/1889 in Buncombe County, NC and had 9 children. The family moved to Spartanburg, SC for a time between 1900 and 1910 to earn money in the textile factories, then returned to Buncombe County, NC and bought land on Union Chapel Rd., Weaverville, Buncombe County, NC. They lived there until they died.
