"Zelma Elizabeth Service, age 91, died March 18, 1998 at HIS of Woodhaven, Ellinwood, Kansas.

She was born October 1, 1906 in Rulo, Nebraska, the daughter of Elias O. and Iola F. Duncan Martin.

On December 23, 1929, she married Gerald Wayne Service in Wellington, Kansas. He preceded her in death in 1964.

Zelma had resided in Great Bend since moving from Jetmore, Kansas, upon her retirement as a Secretary and Bookkeeper in 1968.

She attended the Trinity Methodist Church in Great Bend, Kansas.

Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Delores E. and Francis Salmons of Great Bend and five grandchildren: Joel, Jayme, Jerry, Jason and Jon Salmons all of Garden City, Kansas.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Glenn Martin and Earl Martin; four sisters, Pearl Best, Vesta Brooks, Della Wilson and Marie Martin.

Graveside funeral services were held at 3:00 p.m. Monday, March 23, at Fairmount Cemetery in Jetmore, Kansas; Southwest Developmental Services, Inc., Garden City, Kansas, or HIS of Woodhaven Ellinwood, Kansas. "
