CLARENCE WATSON, age 78, died Tuesday at Hodgeman County Hospital after a three-day illness. He was born July 26, 1884 in Tekonsha, Michigan, to Joseph and Minnie (Owens) Watson. He came to Hodgeman County in 1885 with his parents and sister, Iva. They came by train to Spearville, Kansas and by horse and wagon on to Jetmore.
In 1927, he and his wife, Ella (Fox)Watson, their son and two daughters, moved to Johnson, Stanton Co., where he farmed until about 1939 when he moved back to Jetmore.
Survivors include two sons, Joseph of Jetmore: Donald of Wichita; two daughters, Minnie Peery, Flagler, CO, and Grace Thompson, Meade; one sister, Iva Adams, Jetmore; ten grandchildren, two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Thursday, Jetmore Methodist Church: Rev. Cecil Zeigler. Burial will be in the Fairmont Cemetery, Jetmore, Hodgeman, County.
