After his father's death in 1772, Tarball moved to Poultney, VT where he lived until after 1781. By 1790 he was living in Luzerne County, Pennsylvania. Sometime between 1800 and 1810 he moved to Alfred, Allegany, New York. He finally settled in Almond, Allegany, NY between 1820 and 1830.
