Virginia L. Fishback, 85, of Canton, died Thursday, July 6, 1995, in Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Ill. Born February 11, 1910 near Canton, she was a daughter of Andrew Lewis and Tresa Ellen Tuley Gruber. She married Ferdie Fishback on Sept. 15 1931, at LaGrange. He survives. Mrs. Fishback was a member of First Baptist Church in Canton, and was a homemaker. She had worked at Canton Glove Factory, Mississippi Valley Textile Co., Capps Store, and did wall papering and painting. She had cooked at various local restaurants. Survivors also include two daughters, Mrs. Barbara Willis and Mrs. Becky George, both of Canton; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces. She was preceded in death by two brothers, one sister, and one grandson. Funeral services were conducted Sunday, July 9, at 3:00 p.m., at the First Baptist Church in Canton, with Rev. Russell Johnson officiating. Music was provided by Mary Stice. Pallbearers were John George, Dennis Willis, Dale Stice, Jack Combs, Roy McDermott and Sean Webster.
