Elizabeth Krukenkamp was born to Anton Krukenkamp, a teacher from Prussia who came to America and served in the Union Army during the Civil War, and his wife Elizabeth Eckert whose father owned the City Hotel in Belleville, Illinois. Elizabeth married Peter Chouquette (du Chouquette) of the St. Louis family. She was born in Germantown, Clinton County, Illinois, where her father was teaching.

Elizabeth and Peter Chouquette were the parents of Aurelia, Elizabeth, Julian who died in North Carolina, Antoinette, Peter, George, and Alphonse. The parents are buried in the Krukenkamp family plot at Calvary as is their young son Alphonse. Elizabeth died at age 36.

Peter survived his wife, and after his death their children remained in the family home which the parents had owned. Julian migrated to Los Angeles by the 1930's and had previously been in San Francisco to go on stage. He died in North Carolina--death certificates online.

Peter and George served in World War II and are buried at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis. George married and had a daughter who died young.
