Mildred Marie Henderson, 80, of rural Canton, died Friday, June 19, 1987, at 4:05 a.m. at Keokuk Area Hospital, Keokuk, Iowa. The daughter of Leonard and Margaret Ahern Moore, she was born near St. Patrick, Missouri, in Clark County, Missouri. She was united in marriage to Laswell "Bud" Henderson on June 14, 1926, at Carthage, Illinois, and he preceded her in death on December 7, 1975.
Moore is survived by one brother, Milton Moore of rural Canton; four sisters, Mrs. Annabel Quesnel, Albuquerque, New Mexico, Mrs. Stanley (Loretta) Pepple, rural Revere, Mrs. Earl (Juanita) Watson, Kahoka, and Mrs. Kenneth (Ellen) Krueger, rural Canton; several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one brother, Marion Moore. Moore was a member of the Shrine of St. Patrick and had lived most of her live in the Clark County area. Funeral services were held Monday, June 22, at the Shrine of St. Patrick, St. Patrick, with Rev. John Walsh officiating. Burial was in the St. Patrick Cemetery. Music was provided by Pat Mallett and Cyndy Krueger. Servers were John Wheeler and Jeff Uhlmeyer and pallbearers included Roger Watson, Stanley Pepple, Jr., Kenneth Krueger, Jr., Travis Allen, Leonard Moore and Gary Watson. Rosary services were held on Sunday evening, June 21, at Shaffer and Sons Chapel. Memorials may be made to the donor's choice. Arrangements by Shaffer and Sons Funeral Home.
