Milton Moore, 83, of rural Canton, operator of Moore's Pony Rides in Clark County for 28 years, died Monday, Aug. 31, 1992, in Keokuk Area Hospital. Milton J. Moore was born April 11, 1909, in St. Patrick, a son of Leonard H. and Margaret Ahern Moore. He was a member of the Shrine of St. Patrick and veteran of World War II. Mr. Moore married Ruberta "Peggy" Davis on March 14, 1935. She died Dec. 11, 1978. He wlso was preceded in death by two brothers, Marion and Thomas E., and one sister, Mildred. Survivors include a daughter, Rose Marie Moore of Mercer; a son, Leonard J. Sr. of Knoxville, Iowa; four sisters, Annabel Quesnel of Albuquerque, N.M., Loretta Pepple of St. Francisville, Juanita Watson of Kahoka and Ellen Krueger of Canton; and three grandsons, Leonard J. Moore, Jr., Sheldon Ray Tasco and Dustin H. Barnes. Services were held Thursday, September 3, in the Shrine of St. Patrick by the Rev. Michael Murphy. Burial, with military rites by Kahoka VFW Post 4342, were in St. Patrick Cemetery. Visitation was Wednesday in the Shaffer and Sons Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
