Darius H. Myers
The funeral of Darius H. Myers, who died early Sunday morning at his home on Park Avenue, will be held this afternoon at the funeral parlors of the Anderson-Clayton Bros. undertaking establishment, with Rev. Harrison Baker, pastor of the Methodist church, in charge. Burial will follow in Oakland cemetery. The following will serve as active pall bearers: James Spicer, Virgil Pitts, Carl Lovell, J. E. Styles, Geo. L. Gray, Love Ellis; honorary, A. M. Somers, Ed McAfee, J. L. Allen, P. L. Austin, Jesse Sanford, J. R. Hunnicutt, Bud Williams, J. E. Williams, A. N. Stallings and J. R. Chilcoat.
Mr. Myers was born in Berrien Springs, Mich., March 4, 1853. He moved to Texas in 1875, and had been a resident of the county since that time. He leaves a wife and three children surviving, Mrs. F. P. Morphew and James Hyers (sic), of El Dorado, Ark., and Charles Myers of Terrell. One brother of Salt Lake City, Utah, and two sisters, one in Clay City, Ill., and one in St. Louis, also survive.
Mr. Myers had been a member of the Methodist church for 35 years.
