She married Johann "Friedrich" Diederich Grüschow on Oct 25, 1826 at the village church in Rambow, Mecklenburg-Schwerin. She, her husband and family left the port of Hamburg, Germany on Jul 15, 1854 aboard the sailing ship "Humboldt" and arrived at the port of New York on Aug 28, 1854. They then settled in Chicago, where their eldest son (Chris Gruschow) and his family had settled in 1853. They had 9 children, two living in Brooklyn, New York and the rest in Chicago, Illinois.
