1660, December 27: Joseph Rogers died from a fall in wrestling with his friend, Richard Hawes (or John Hawes) "Christmas Day 1660". According to Court records, "John Hawes was found not guilty of "takeing away the life of Joseph Rogers of Eastham by giveing him a most deadly fall, on the 25 of December 1660 . . . whereof he . . . about 48 hours after died".
