Death claimed Mrs. Ruth Jane Acrea Mathews, 87, at the home of her son, Roy H. Acrea, on the Loving Road. Services were held at the First Methodist Church with Rev. Morrison of Newcastle.
Miss Ruth Jane Moyer had been a resident of Texas since 1872 and a member of the Methodist Church since 1860.

Survived by three daughters - Mrs. J.W. Hays, Mrs. Z.C. Cornell, Mrs. Audrey E. Shuford, three sons - T.L., Robert E., and Roy H. Acrea; 30 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren.
Three grandsons - Sgt. Paul V. Shuford, Everett B. Cornell and Claude Daughrity were pallbearers.
