Mr. Burger was a member of Clingan Ridge Baptist Church. He owned and operated Burger Music Store for over 50 years.

He was preceded in death by his son, famed pianist Anthony Burger; parents, John Jackson Burger and Mable Rose Lawson Burger.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Jean Burger of Cleveland; sons: Randy Burger and wife, Linda of Athens and Clinton Burger and wife, Janet of Cleveland; daughter-in-law, LuAnn Burger of Franklin; seven grandchildren: Tabitha Burger, Travis Burger, Monica Chestnutt, Alan Davis, Austin Burger and A.J. Burger all of Cleveland and Lori Apple of Franklin; five great grandchildren: Olivia Davis, Eli Chestnutt, Zeke Chestnutt, Kaleb Triplett and Karson Huff; four sisters: Lillie Pritchard and husband, Charlie of Ft. Myers, FL, Willie Murphy of Cleveland, Reba Sparks of Charleston and Francis Whaley and husband, Thomas of Ft. Wayne, IN; one brother, Hershel Burger of Cleveland and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday, April 27, 2010 at Clingan Ridge Baptist Church with the Reverend Ricky Vaughn and the Reverend James Vaughn officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens with Alan Davis, Jason Freeman, Travis Burger, Nick Thompson, Scott Thompson and Kenneth Wright serving as pallbearers. Buddy Gray will serve as honorary pallbearer. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service.

His family will receive friends from 6-9 P.M. Monday, April 26, 2010 at Ralph Buckner Funeral Home and from 12-1 P.M. Tuesday at the church prior to the service.
