Cecil Allen McPhail, Sr. passed away February 19, 2010 after a long and valiant battle with cancer. Born in Baskin, Louisiana on July 24, 1928. He was a resident of Willis for the past 10 years. Cecil formally lived in Port Arthur, Texas for 50 years.

Services will be held at 10 AM at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home in Willis on Monday February 22, 2010. Steve Yates of Conroe Church of Christ will be officiating with Chaplain Ray Hyden of Lighthouse Hospice assisting. Final resting place will be in Oak Bluff Memorial Cemetery in Port Neches, Texas. The graveside service will be held at 2:30 PM Monday afternoon. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 PM Sunday, February 21, 2010 at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home in Willis.

An Army veteran Cecil served his country stationed in Germany. Cecil was a 32nd degree Mason and a member of the Masonic Lodge in Willis and served as Worthy Patron of the Order of the Eastern Star in Port Arthur/Groves area. He attended First Methodist Church in Willis.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Betty McPhail, sons, Kenneth and Allen, daughters Pam and Alice. He is survived by his daughters, Dixie Estep and husband Steve and Linda Gray and husband, Brett all of Willis. Sister Hazel May of San Antonio. Grandchildren, Brian Newhouse and wife Lisa of Montgomery, Misty Miller and husband Robbie of Round Rock, Jamie Tipton and husband Jake of Spring and Scott Gray of Willis. Great grandchildren Jake and Luke Miller, Madison and Cameron Newhouse and Kloie Tipton. Nieces Rosemary Philmon and husband Jesse and Betty Gower and husband Jerry all of San Antonio.

Pallbearers: Steve Estep, Brett Gray, Brian Newhouse, Robbie Miller, Scott Gray and Jake Tipton.

Honorary Pallbearers: Charlie Trotter, David Hare, L.J. Young and Bob Swanzy.
