Bandleader. Musician. He was the founder of the Grammy Award winning band "The Nashville Brass". He began his career as a trumpet player performing with some of the famous New York City big bands of the 1940s. He also was a successful record producer and after his company transferred him to Nashville, Tennessee, he formed "Danny Davis and the Nashville Brass". The band experienced immediate success. In 1969 the group won a Grammy Award for the song "Kawliga." For the next thirty years the band performed around the nation and appeared on numerous television shows. His band recorded over thirty albums and won the Country Music Association's award for best instrumental group six times. Born George Nolan, he died in a Nashville hospital of cardiac arrest at the age of eighty-three.
