Born c. 1828. Son of William Milne I and Euphan Duff. Died at age 45, possibly at Tolbooth Street, Kirkcaldy [possibly No 7], their address on the 1871 census. Married to Jane Anderson on 06 June 1854 in Dalkeith. They had 7 sons: William III, Thomas, Aleck, James, John, Robert and Alfred. All of them moved to the US except Robert who drowned at sea (in Scotland) after 1886.

Milne, WM (d 1873): innkeeper, Kirkcaldy, 1863-1873; only s of Wm Milne, Dunfermline; succeeded John Purvis as landlord of the National Hotel, 189 HS; here he remained until May 1868, & in Sep 1869 opened premises in Tolbooth St as Milne's Temperance Hotel (FA Sep 18 1869); d April 16 1873.
