Edward T. Kridle, age 84, of Masontown, Pennsylvania passed away Friday, May 14, 2010 at home with his Family at his side. He was born in Masontown, Pennsylvania, September 22, 1925, the son of Louis Kridle and Christina Flydell Kridle. A United States Navy Veteran of World War II, he was a Lifetime Member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4584 in Masontown. Edward retired from Robena Mine, United States Steel, and was a member of United Mine Workers of America Local 6321 He was predeceased by his parents; and brothers: Walter, Henry, Fred, George and John. He is survived by his wife, Alice Mae Moredock Kridle; son, William Kridle and wife Betty of Martin, Pennsylvania; daughter, Kim Johnston and husband Scott of Masontown; grandchildren: William Kridle, Sara Johnston and fiance Gabe Nalepka, Scott Johnston and fiancee Miranda Kozy; great grandchildren: Ariel, Tiffany, Ashlyn, McVay and Madison Johnston; and sisters: Patricia "Tish" Trambko of Uniontown, Pennsylvania and Margaret Guy of Florida. "Old Pappy" will be greatly missed by his great grand daughters: Ariel, Tiffany, Ashlynn and Madison. Friends and Family will be received in the John S. Maykuth Jr. Funeral Home, 7 River Avenue, Masontown, today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m and Monday, May 17, 2010 until 10 a.m., the hour of Service in the Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Stephen S. Cole officiating. Interment will follow in Jefferson Cemetery, Jefferson, Pennsylvania.
