On Sept. 22, 1899 in The Hagerstown Mail: "Divorce.. Henry A. Turley filed a bill for absolute divorce from his wife Emma Kate Turley, charging abandonment and infidelity, naming Edward Rockwell as co-respondent".
Harry was living in Missouri as early as 1918 as stated in his mother's obituary. It is not known when or why he chose to move there.
For the last 6 months of his life, Harry resided at The Little Sisters of the Poor in St. Louis, a home for the elderly poor. Their records show that he entered the home on Nov. 10, 1944 where he was given food, shelter, and was cared for. A note attached to his records states that “he has nothing and no one”. This information was provided by the Director of Social Services/Admissions at Little Sisters of the Poor.
It is not known if Harry remained in contact with his two brothers until their deaths or if he might have been estranged from them. He was not mentioned as a survivor in his brother George’s obituary even though Harry was still alive at the time. Also, at the time of Harry's death, he had Fechtig cousins who were living in Wilmington, NC.
