Lochie was the younger daughter of farmers Joel A. & Sarah (Clark) Butler. She married William H. Caldwell at her home in Hilltop, WV on Oct. 16, 1889. She was a member of the Athens Baptist Church and the Athens Order of the Eastern Star.
