Amy Denning, wife of William Denning, buried on land of what used to be the Denning farm in the town of Philipstown, on the east side of Rt.9D below Sugar Loaf. About 100 yards south of the historic Beverly Robinson house site. Per Barbara Buys, the stone now broken, reads:
"Beneath the (illeg.) beautiful (illeg.). Removed by her wish the remains of Amy Denning, wife of William Denning, deposited by her express directions. This marble (illeg.)to recall to her children the rembrance of a mother by a friend who best knew her virtues and most respects her memory."
Amy Hawxhurst Denning was born in 1747 or 1748 and died on May 7, 1808.
