Roush, Walter J. - Meritt Island, Florida, age 79, died Thursday, June 13, 1963 at Hurley Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, from the Roosevelt Avenue Free Methodist Church. Rev. E. E. Walling officiating.

Burial in Grace Lawn Cemetery.

Mr. Roush will lie in state at the Brown Funeral Home, until 11 a.m. Monday and then will be taken to the church for services.

Death was sudden.

Mr. Roush was born in Bowling Green, Ohio, on March 2, 1881, the son of Isaac and Margaret Roush and was a resident of Flint for 53 years.

He was a member of the Roosevelt Avenue Free Methodist Church for many years and was employed at Buick Motor Division in the Experimental Department No. 78 for 40 years before retiring in 1949.

Surviving are: Wife, Lydia B.; 2 daughters, Mrs. Esther Ferrell and Mrs. Dorothy Yale; son, Harold L., all of Flint; 9 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; sister Mrs. Amanda Crary, brother Frank, of Merritt Island Florida,; several nieces and nephews.

Walter Leroy's father was Isaac Miller Roush born 17 February 1836, Scott Twp., Sandusky Co., Ohio.

He left his family in Ohio to live in Oregon. He died of an abscessed tooth depending on others to care for and bury him.

He died 22 January 1896, Detroit, Marion Co., Oregon, no burial information. Source Elaine Johnson
