Seven year old killed by a member of the Detroit Police Special Response Team executing a search warrant in a raid on on her grandmother's home in search for a murder suspect in the early hours of May 16, 2010. More than twenty police officers stormed the home by first tossing an incendiary device through the window. They then kicked in the doors and shot Aiyana Jones while her grandmother watched in horror. She was rushed to a hospital where she was soon pronounced dead. Police found their 34-year-old murder suspect in an adjacent house. Days later civil rights activist Rev. Al Sharpton gave a rousing eulogy at funeral for Jones which brought hundreds to mourn loss of the little girl, challenging mourners to take responsibility and help stop a spiral of violence that has swept the city of Detroit.

He who accepts evil without protesting against it is really cooperating with it.
