Burton Talvin Head, Jr. was born on July 30, 1936 in Hood River, Oregon to Burton Talvin Head, Sr. & Grace (Starns) Head.

He died at a Vancouver, Washington VA Hospice Center on February 12, 2010 at the age of 73.

Burton was educated in different areas of Oregon then enlisted in the Marine Corps in 1953 and discharged in 1958. He married Gwendolyn Martin in Portland where they made thier home until moving to property in Deer Island for 28 years and the last 2 years in St. Helens.

He worked in a machine shop in Scappoose and retired in 1989 as a security guard for 6 years from Burns Security. He secured the Linnton Plywood Mill and the old St. Helens Hospital.

Burton was a member of the St. Helens American Legion #42 and Painters Local #10-Portland. He enjoyed fishing.

He is survived by his Wife: Gwendolyn Head of St. Helens and a sister: Barbara Yingling of Milwaukie, OR.

Celebration of Life: Thursday, February 18, 2010 at 2:00 PM at Columbia Tribute Center. Private interment: Willamette National Cemetery-Portland, OR.
