PHYLLIS BEBER, 93, BORN IN ENGLAND

ELYRIA -- Phyllis Beber (nee Dicken), 93, of Elyria, died Sunday, Jan. 21, 2001, at EMH Regional Medical Center, Elyria.

She was born Aug. 12, 1907, in Chesterfield, England, and came to Elyria at the age of 10 from Philadelphia, Pa.

Mrs. Beber was a 50-year member of St. Andrews Episcopal Church, Elyria, and a member of the Elyria Women's Senior Fellowship. She had been a foster parent to 10 children.

Survivors include her daughters Phyllis Mae Keisler, Patricia R. Keefer and Joyce M. Korzan, all of Elyria, and Doris L. Holtwick of Cordova, Tenn.; 15 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren; and brother, Harold Dicken of Elyria. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Julius Dostall; second husband, Edwin Beber, in 1979; parents, Henry and Ada Dicken; brothers Horace, Harry and Douglas Dicken; and sisters Nellie Hawkins and Doris Baker.
Friends may call Wednesday 5 to 8 p.m. at Dicken Funeral Home, 323 Middle Ave., Elyria.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. in St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, 300 Third St., Elyria. The Rev. Frances H. McNutt will officiate. Burial will be in Brookdale Cemetery, Carlisle Township.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Andrew's Church Organ Fund, 300 Third St., Elyria 44035.
