In Otto A. Rothert's A HISTORY OF MUHLENBERG CO published in 1913-Richard T. Martin in the chapter about Old Liberty Church wrote:
Adlia Boyd was buried in Old Liberty Cemetery in an unmarked grave. He was a noted pioneer Cumberland Presbyterian minister. He spent over 50 years in earnest devotion to the cause of Christian Religion.. He was an elegant and impressive speaker and one of the ablest preachers that ever lived in the county.
He remarried after Joanne died and moved to Henderson, Ky. they had 4 boys and three daughters.
He was visiting in Muhlenberg County when he took sick and died, and was buried beside his first wife.
