Fred T. Imler


Fred T. Imler, 81, of Blanche Street, Bedford, died at 3:40 AM, on Friday, May 28th, 2010.

Mr. Imler was born in Bedford County on Saturday, July 21, 1928, the son of the late Harry Robert and Clara Bell (Hartman) Imler.

On November 6, 1946, he married Agnes C. "Nook" (Feight) Imler. She preceded him in death on January 24, 2004.

He is survived by Daughter- Cynthia wife of Joseph Crissman, Osterburg; Son- Rudolph 'Rudy" husband of Jeannie (Jewell) Imler, Centerville; Son- Randolph "Randy" husband of Christeena (Kaup) Imler, New Paris; Son- Stephen "Steve" husband of Linda (Natcher) Imler, Fairhope; Daughter- Shelva wife of Joseph Shives, Lancaster; Son- Jay Dee husband of Gloria (Dibert) Imler, Charleston, SC; Sister- Margaret Karns, Snake Sping Twp.; Brother- Donald Imler, Montrose; Sister- Jessie Miller, Fishertown; Sister- Shirley Cogan, Manns Choice; Sister- Katherine Foor, Friends Cove; Sister- JoAnn Foor, Cessna; Sister- Jean Ferguson, Manns Choice. He is also survived by 33 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren. Fred was also survived by a Special Friend - Shirley Miller, Schellsburg.

He was preceded in death by a son, Fred T. Imler, Jr., five sisters, June Smith, Reta Morris, Dorothy Daily, Mary Lou Logue and Harriet Jean Imler and four brothers, Robert Imler, John Imler, Harold Imler and Lloyd Imler.


Fred retired from the PA Turnpike in 1990. He was the founder of Fred Imler & Sons General Contracting.

Fred was a lifetime member of the Village Assembly of God Church. He was also a member of the Teamsters Union. Fred enjoyed hunting, camping, fishing and attending auctions.

A funeral service will be held at Village Assembly of God, Bedford, at 10:00 AM on Monday, May 31st, 2010
with Pastor Rich Fogal officiating.

Interment at Wood Church Cemetery, Colerain Twp.

Friends are invited to call on Sunday from 2-4 & 6-9 PM at Louis Geisel Funeral Home, Bedford and on Monday from 9:00 - 10:00 AM at the church.
