William W. Green, the son of Squire Green and Elizabeth Ellen Payton, was born on April 13, 1847 in Grayson County, Kentucky. He was the husband of Rachel V. Deweese, the daughter of Isaac Harrell Deweese and Abigail Mahurin.

At the time of the 1880 Census of District 51, Spring Fork, Grayson, Kentucky the William W. Green household concisted of: W. W. Green, a farmer, age 33; his wife Rachel V., a house keeper, age 27; and their sons: Ethelbert R., age 2; Wesley R., age 8 months. Also living with them was Rachel's nephew, Amos E. Deweese.

William W. Green died at the age of 69 years, 3 months and 14 days on July 27, 1916. He was buried in the McCandless Cemetery on Spring Lick Road east of Yeaman, Grayson County, Kentucky.
