BRADFORD FRANKS DIES AT HOSPITAL OF AUTO INJURIES
SHOCK PROVES FATAL TO AGED MAN, STRUCK BY CAR LAST WEDNESDAY NIGHT
FUNERAL WILL BE HELD ON MONDAY
Bradford Franks, 81, residing at 2512 North D street, died at the Mercy hospital at 12:45 o'clock this afternoon, of shock and injuries sustained when struck by an automobile last Wednesday evening.
He was crossing Main street at its intersection with Twenty-fifth street, enroute to the Pentecostal Church in South Twenty-second street, when the accident occurred.
RUNS AGAINST CAR
Mr. Franks is said to have become confused when the horn of an automobile, driven by Wayne Craig, of near Jonesboro, was sounded. Instead of stopping he started running and is said to have run against the car. He was thrown to the cement street and suffered numerous body bruises. However, shock proved too great a strain and he
expired this afternoon.
FUNERAL MONDAY
Mr. Franks was married twice.
Surviving are two step-daughters, Mrs. Tony Monahan and Mrs. John Waymire, both of Elwood. A brother lives in Indianapolis.
The body was removed to the Clark Chapel where funeral services will be conducted Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock with Rev. Mr. Bryant, pastor of the Elwood Pentecostal Tabernacle, in charge. Burial will follow in the city cemetery.
