RITES SLATED FOR VERA BRISTOL, 64.
HERMON - The funeral for Mrs Vera Bristol, age 64, will be Thursday at 2pm at the home of her brother Lowell Aldrich of Hermon, with the Rev Calvin F Zimmer , pastor of the United Methodist Church of Canton, officiating. Burial will be in the Flackville Cemetery.
Mrs Bristol died at 11.00pm Sunday (26 April 1970) at Hepburn Hospital, Ogdensburg, where she had been a patient since April 9.
Surviving besides her brother Lowell are two sons, Leo Bristol of Hermon and Olen Bristol of Canton; one sister, Mrs Michael (Lorna) Almerto of Syracuse; another brother Sidney Aldrich of DePeyster and 10 grandchildren.
A son Alfred, was killed in action in France 5 Aug 1944.
Mrs Bristol was born in the Town of DePeyster 19 July 1905, daughter of Emerson and Jennett Morris Aldrich. She was married to Charles Bristol of Heuvelton 31 Jan 1924 at the First Presbyterian Manse, Ogdensburg, the ceremony performed by Dr William MacIntrye. The marriage ended in divorce in 1945.
Mrs Bristol was a member of the Auxiliary to the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Gouverneur, and a Gold Star Mother. She was a Charter Member of the DeKalb Junction Volunteers Fireman's Auxiliary, a member of the Hermon Volunteer Fireman's Auxiliary and the St Lawrence County Fireman's Auxiliary.
Mrs Bristol resided in the Heuvelton - Depeyster area for many years, and at DeKalb Junction from 1945-1969. She had resided at Hermon the past six months
