Just ten days after the death of his wife, who had been his helpmate and companion for more than half a century, James M Avery of Nirvana, followed her to the grave Monday. They were pioneers in the real sense, settling on a homestead four miles from Nirvana in 1871, forty two years ago, when Lake County was a gigantic forest of pine without railroads or wagon trails. Their marriage in Clinton County occurred in 1851. He is survived by two sons, A S Avery, postmaster at Nirvana, and John E Avery of Fox, Mich, and two daughters, Amy Johnson of Nirvana and Netti M Tripp of Texas. Funeral services were held at the home on Wednesday.
