Mrs. Lowe was born July 25, 1922, in Wilkes County to the late William and Ollie Bauguess Billings. She was a homemaker and member of Stoney Ridge Baptist Church.
Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Janice and Bobby Hauser and Ruth and Wade Chamberlain all of Mount Airy; one son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Judy Lowe of Mount Airy; ten grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two brothers; and sisters-in-law, Fred and Betty Billings of Austin and Marvin and Naomi Billings of Roaring River.
In addition to her parents Mrs. Lowe was preceded in death by her husband, Ander William Lowe; one son, William Ted Lowe; two sisters, twin sister Mary Blevins and Pansy Bauguess; and three brothers, Ted Billings, Sherman Billings and Ezra Billings.
Funeral services will be held Saturday morning June 19, 2010, at 11 a.m. at Stoney Ridge Baptist Church with services conducted by the Rev. Jerry Brooks and the Rev. Rick Johnson with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends Saturday morning from 10 a.m. until time for the service. The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff at the Joan & Howard Woltz Hospice Home for their love and care and also to the Dunmore Plantation.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, 401 Technology Lane Suite 200, Mount Airy, NC 27030 or to the Stoney Ridge Baptist Church, 2123 Kings Billings Road, Traphill.
