A memorial service for Mason Lynn Smith, 85, Sugar Land, was held at 2:30 P.M., Saturday, June 26, 2010 at Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Chapel in Rosenberg with Pastor Phil Lineberger officiating.
Mason was born October 8, 1924 in Leagueville, Texas to Selman DeWitt Smith and Ella Mae Hopson Smith. Mason served his country proudly in the U.S. Army during WWII, having volunteered in 1943 and served in England, France, Belgium amd Germany, earning The E.T.O. Ribbon and three Battle Stars including The Battle Of The Bulge. He passed away June 24, 2010 at his residence in Sugar Land.
Mason was preceded in death by his wife, Laura Beth Smith; his parents, Selman and Ella Smith; siblings, Selman, Bruce, Ina Bess and Willie Mae.
He is survived by his children, Kathy Stewart and husband, Jim, Tommy Lynn Smith and wife, Sharon, and Nancy Womack and husband, Tra; sister, Beulah "Dot" Skrobanek and husband, Leon and Wayne Smith and wife, Sue; grandchildren, Spencer Stewart and wife, Jerri, Melody Rosner and husband,Greg, Thomas Stewart and wife, Staci, April Eindorf and husband, Kenny,Luke Fojtik and Shelby Fojtik; great grandchildren, Spencer and Drew Stewart, Jack, Katherine and Brett Rosner, Cade, Owen and Quinn Stewart, and Jessica and Sarah Jurecek; longtime friend and companion, Julie Pettigrew; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Honarary pallbearers included Spencer Stewart, Thomas Stewart, Luke Fojtik, Shelby Fojtik, Greg Rosner and Kenny Eindorf.
