Andrew Morrison was born to William and Janet McEwan Morrison on 26 August 1847 in St. Davids, Madderty, Perthshire, Scotland. He had a twin sister, Margaret "Maggie". Andrew and Maggie immigrated to the USA together in 1870, going first to Illinois. Maggie stayed in Rockford, Illinois, to help a sister, Grace. Andrew went on west to Decatur County, Kansas, where he took up land. Maggie later joined Andrew but she married and stayed in Kansas the rest of her life. Andrew sold his Kansas property and moved to Seattle where he died on 8 March 1921. He left considerable property to Maggie, but through some fluke, she never got it. Andrew never married and did not have any children.
