FUNERAL SERVICES ARE HELD MONDAY FOR TOM C. KIMBRO
Funeral services were held at the J. M. Day Funeral Home December 16 for Thomas C. Kimbro, 80, who died December 14 at the Heights Hospital in Houston.
Mr. Kimbro was born in Walker County March 11, 1877, but had lived in Madison County for many years. His father was Martin Luther Kimbro, who was a native of Alabama, and his mother was Martha Jane Brimberry Kimbro, who was a native of Walker County.
The first marriage of Mr. Kimbro was to Miss Jenny Pender, who preceded him in death. His second marriage was to Miss Lema Lillian Wilson, who also preceded him in death. Three children were born to the first union, Ernest, Jim Bill and Edna Kimbro. Ernest and Edna preceded him in death. Eight children were born to the second union and one of them, Truman Carroll Kimbro, was killed in World War II in 1944. Children surviving him are Jim Bill, Robbie Burtis Kimbro of Houston; Jewell of Liberty; Adele and Idelle, twin daughters, and Maudine, and T. C. of Houston and Melvin Glyn Kimbro of Heavener, Oklahoma; one sister, Mrs. Tom Parker of Madisonville; eleven grandchildren.
Services were conducted at 2 p.m. Monday with Rev. Neal Todd, pastor of the Second Baptist Church, officiating. Burial was in the High Prairie Cemetery with Day Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers were R. H. Park, Snooky Evans, E. P. Thomas, J. R. Cleere, Timothy Burr and John Dean Carter.
