Civil War Union Army Officer. He served during the Civil War as Captain and commander of Company K, 118th Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry, being mustered in on August 21, 1862. A month later, he was killed in action at the Battle of Shepherdstown Ford, (West) Virginia.
