Born Feb. 11, 1904, in Russell, Iowa, to Walter L. and Ethel Kells Blue, he married Mosselle Throckmorton on April 5, 1931, in Burlington, Iowa. She survives.
Also surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Arthur (Patricia) Kloser of Kansas City, Mo., Mrs. Larry (Beverly) Bayless of Palos Heights and Mrs. Woody (Diana) Gross of Woodstown, N.J.; two brothers, Robert of East Peoria and Ralph of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho; three sisters, Mae Roberts of Cedar Falls, Iowa, Mrs. William (Avis) Medland of Centerville, Iowa, and Louise Baker of Rowland Heights, Calif.; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
One son, Louis, preceded him in death.
He was a supervisor at Caterpillar Inc. for 35 years, retiring in 1966. He was a member of Caterpillar Retirees Club.
He was a member of Hilton Masonic Lodge 1143, AF&AM, of East Peoria and the Peoria Consistory for 50 years. He was a member of Mohammed Temple, Shrine, of Peoria.
He was a member of First United Methodist Church in East Peoria.
Burial will be in Fondulac Cemetery in East Peoria.
