Seven children. Known as Peck. Tried homesteading in western Nebraska, but decided that was not where he wanted to live. He married Mary Miles, b. in Scotland and one of his mother's hired girls. After farming in IL a few years they went to Sedgwick Co., KS. Their children were George Malcolm, Heloise, Hazel, Kenneth, Anna and twin who died as infants. Their families lived in CA, ID and Greenwood Co., KS.
Ms. Whitcomb reported that Mr. Doane is buried in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Los Angeles Co, CA.
