MRS. OLIVE WHETSTONE of Birmingham, AL died December 17, 2000 at the age of 84, at a local hospital. She was born in Elmore County, AL on July 22, 1916. Her parents were George Gunter and Ethel Whetstone. She was the beloved wife and widow of Rev. Joe S. Harmon and a devoted mother and homemaker. She is survived by her daughter Mrs. Jo Wayne Chism (Chalmers) and son John D. Harmon (Linda). She has two grandchildren, Mrs. Paula Brown (Bartley) and Kelly W. Harmon (Gwen) and four great-grandchildren, Holland, Alec and Mavanee Brown and Joe Gibson Harmon, all of Birmingham, AL. She is survived by seven brothers and sisters, Amos Whetstone of Pensacola, FL, Joe Whetstone of Alabaster, AL, Alex Whetstone of Hartselle, AL, Mrs. Leo Harry of Titus, AL, Mrs. Reba Kratzer of Montgomery, AL, Mrs. Ann Kilgo, of Cedartown, GA, and Mrs. Linda Brock of Montgomery, AL. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews and her husband's sisters, Mrs. Jean Clark (John) of Selma, AL, Mrs. Syble Simon of Montgomery, AL,

and brother Tom W. Harmon (Suzanne) of Dayton, OH. For 45 years she was a member of West End United Methodist Church and for the last four years, a Watchcare member of Dawson Memorial Baptist Church. Visitation will be Tuesday, December 19, 2000 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be Wednesday, December 20, 2000 at Ridout's Elmwood Chapel. Burial to follow in Elmwood Cemetery in Birmingham, AL. Ridout's Elmwood Chapel is directing.
