Wife of George Maier passed away Friday evening at Saginaw General Hospital after a lingering illness. Age 78 years. Anna M. Sly was born Jan. 3, 1886, in Ingersoll township, Midland County. She was married to Mr. Maier June 26, 1907. The deceased was a member of the Methodist church in Laporte. Besides her husband, she leaves two sons and three daughters, Mrs. Walter (Evelyn) Peters, Hensdale, Ill., G. Melvin and Marlin Maier, Mrs. Elroy (Arlene) Sanford and Mrs. Mike (Irene) Aaron, all of Laporte; 20 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; also one brother and three sisters, Ira Sly, Mrs. Nellie Franklin and Mrs. Guy Bartlett, all of Freeland. Funeral service will take place at 2 pm Tuesday at the Taylor Funeral Home, Freeland. Rev. Lawrence Brooks will officiate with burial in Laporte Cemetery.
